my sister and I stayed here 5 days and 4 nights and it is heaven. A short walk down a road lined with flowers and trees to the ocean. To just sit and listen to wonderful sounds of life all around you. Quiet, and super nice Palm cottage. There is soo much to go see and experience, but mostly you just want to sit and enjoy the property at Lava Lane Cottages. Thanks for a memory of the heart.
An amazing and beautiful place to stay while on the island of Hawai'i. Be aware that if you are a light sleeper there there are Coquí frogs which will chirp throughout the night, but if you can sleep through white noise is it not an issue. I really enjoyed my stay and it is EXTREMELY close to several black-sand beaches and only a few minutes drive outside of Hilo... Loved every minute of it!
We were so pleased with both the accommodations as well as the hospitality! It is hard to believe that this piece of paradise was created by the hard work of one couple. Lava Lane Cottages offer a fantastic travel deal for those who want to be within easy distance of many things yet you are in a secluded peaceful setting. By all means make time to watch the stars at night in that clear night sky! Also take the time to go to the tidal pools that are close by-they were amazing and safe! Learn how to save yourself some walking at the Pahoa tide pools by going to the far side-Nora can tell you all about it...
Peaceful and tidy cottages with beautiful grounds and stunning ocean views just steps away. We stayed two weeks and didn't want to leave. A bit of a drive to town for supplies but amazing quiet and stargazing at night. Owner is wonderful.
We haven't even left yet from our ten day stay in the Bamboo Cottage and we are ready to book again. If you are looking for city life this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet stay then you will want to book here. The cottage has everything you need. The grounds are beautiful. The drive here is amazing and breathtaking. There is swimming and snorkeling close by, farmers markets, surfing, the volcano with lava flowing into the ocean just a few miles away, and so much more. Nora was out of the area when we arrived but Michael has been a wealth of information. You will truly be blessed with your stay here.
