Gorgeous view. Well worth the drive down from the volcano rim. However, be sure not to get here too late to avoid driving back up in the dark.
Cool natural lava rock arch! It’s especially cool when the waves crash into it
Not sure if I should be disappointed by what I saw, but you'd have to drive for a while to get to this point. The drive down was pretty cool since you get to see the different terrain getting to this point. The actual arch was formed by lava and sculpted by the ocean. Won't last forever!
Lots of driving so be prepared with snacks and water. There is a hike at the end to see lava flowing into the ocean. This is a great thing to add to your bucket list at least once.
Since you're already at this point, you might as well visit 'Lava Taking Back The Road'.
The sea arch is very close to the road and has a viewing area. This is also the start to the walk to the lava flow if you choose to do it from this side. It is about 10 miles round trip and doing it from the Hilo side is about 8.5 so I would recommend starting on the other side if you want to view the lava flow.
