Walk to the historic "Painted Church". You can even hike to active lava flows (when happening) from here!!! Short drive to Kehena Beach where you can swim with dolphins. Snorkeling at a marine park is just 15 min. Best restaurants, shops and gas stations are 9 miles away in historic Pahoa town. Ahalanui Hot Springs, (warm pond) is just 10 min. Pohoiki surf park is 10 min where you can enjoy surfing or watch the surfers! Hale Lalala is comfortably luxurious, clean, has a large outdoor deck with some ocean view. Located on Ala Iki, a private, quiet street. Some nights you can see the glow from the lava! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As about discounts, the manager is great at negotiating.
Dwight is a great host and will even give you a great watsu massage in the pool outside. Cross the red road and you can have a walk on the beach.
