I love the staff and drs
Turned me away because they said they don't take my insurance... despite the fact that my insurance will cover out of network urgent care if they send in the claim. Apparently they don't want to help people if it means mailing in a piece of paper. Receptionist was incredibly unhelpful and sent me away flat. Grassroots, non-profit... Sounds nice but isn't.
The staff did a great professional job.
What's cool about doctor Miller to me is that he thinks beyond the immediate need. Asks the right questions to plan proper treatment and discussed ways to minimize suffering and helped me understand my situation.
I have been to Puna community a few times and I really think highly of doctor Miller and his team.
He took the time needed and I really felt like he cares about my health.
I went in to get my ears cleaned out because I thought they were causing me pain from buildup and the doctor refused to treat me. She looked in my ears for one second and told me there was nothing there and told they looked fine. The doctor clearly didn't want to be at Urgent Care and was very brusque. She was an older white woman maybe 70, with long scraggly grey hair. She lied to me so she wouldn't have to treat me. Please be careful with your family here, they have clearly have no issue mistreating patients. UPDATE: I went to my primary physician a few weeks later and discovered I had a serious ear issue that required medication. Doctor took one look at my ears and saw my eardrums were misshapen. Obviously visible to Urgent Care nurse but she lied and said I was fine. Try a different Urgent Care or ER, it's not worth your time, health, or money to go there.
They close at 2:00pm on Sunday's my daughter needed to be checked. She was in a lot of pain. We walked in at 1:40 and said they are closing in 20 minutes they refused to take her in even though there was no wait at all.
